I am writing personal reflections for college essays/english assignment about someone in history or fiction that has influenced me. I really don’t know of a person in history who has influenced me or a person in fiction. I’m really uninfluenced by fiction.

I’m leaning towards someone in the aviation industry, but I’m really not influenced that much. Isn’t it bad to be influenced by people?

Help?

Here I am… on the threshold of my senior year. Ready for whatever is to come. Ready to sign my soul away for honors. Ready to get college apps finished. Ready to finalize my plans. Ready to accept what happens; accept failure. Ready to back down when needed to.

I’m ready to finish. But first, I’m ready to… begin.

It begins tomorrow. Whether you are ready or not. It begins…

Ahh yes, today was the party at Cherish’s house. It was her sweet 16. Of course, I didn’t know about it until I actually picked Shanna up, so I got her a 7-Eleven gift card. Luckily, she loves 7-Eleven. Score πŸ˜€

Anyways today was long, and it’s not over. I went down to Naval Air Station North Island on Coronado to get a price adjustment on this netbook I got my mom last week. $50.

Then I went around and about town when it was about 105 degrees out, picked up Shanna, thought I was gonna die going the wrong way on a freeway offramp, and then we went to the party. Fun times with people who I haven’t actually met in real life, such as Saul. I also met other cool people. Fun times.

Anyways, then we went to Madison’s house because Shanna wanted to so I went with her after getting lost around South Park. So it’s like 9:30 and I don’t know where the hell I am. Ohh well.

Anyways tonight is gonna be my last good sleep before school starts. Better make it long enough to be well rested πŸ™‚

Ohh well, tomorrow I have nothing to do so I’m just gonna chill, install Snow Leopard (I won’t put it off!) and just relax around the house in the air conditioning.

I’m gonna take a shower, and then I have to pick my mom up around midnight from a house on Ellingham. That’s all I know. Should be interesting.

Then I’m getting some sleep.

So today I slept in because I thought it would be nice. Beach Day with friends today, so I went to get a $5 footlong at Subway in Torrey Highlands and then headed to Torrey Pines State Beach. Parking was $10 bucks! Outrageous. Anyways I had soooo much fun with everyone who showed up today. Great times!

Well I’m keeping tonight’s “blawg” short because I am tired. I didn’t even get to install Snow Leopard today, too tired. That’s what tomorrow morning is for, I guess. Dang I better go downstairs and put my clothes in the dryer before I go to bed.

So this is the last Thursday in summer. Where has the summer gone? I’m normally asking that around this time every year, but not this year. I packed a lot in my summer and had an awesome time with family, friends, and other people around town. I saw a bunch of hit-release movies, help launch a website for our school’s engineering department, and just chilled.

I logged about 5,000 driving miles this summer. So yeah, I’ve been around and about.

I’m ready to go back to school, but I do love summer. But summer eventually has to end and I think now is a good time. Besides, senior year at HTHMA looks fun, and who knows what we’ll do. I’m also planning for next summer, which should be A-W-E-S-O-M-E if everything can work out. For all I know, next summer might as well be my last summer in San Diego. But we’ll deal with that later, okay?

Today marked the unofficial end of summer. Senior Pictures. I took my senior pictures, went home, and went back again for Yoselin’s. It was really neat seeing 1/10th of the senior class today at Yoselin’s picture session. All in all, I think I’ve seen most of HTHMA 2010 over the summer and for those of you who I haven’t seen I’ll see you Monday πŸ™‚

I’m sleeping in tomorrow. Then I’m gonna wake up in time to greet the FedEx guy and install my copy of Snow Leopard which is due to arrive tomorrow. (It shipped FedEx Overnight from Ontario,CA) So then I’ll install it, set it up, and then if all goes well I’m off to the beach with friends. It’s the “last hurrah” of summer. Just remember, summer needs to end in order for it to begin again.

This year will be great!

I’m planning something big. Something reallllly big. It’s so big I can’t speak of it yet cause I don’t have it fully worked out. But rest assured, I’ll post about it here when I can.

Stay tuned. This could be really awesome for July 2010.

Today was training for student orientation tomorrow. Tomorrow I get to give tours of HTHMA with Jacob Harris. Should be interesting. I’m doing Karl’s advisory, which should be fun. Ahh yes, I remember when I was a freshman during student orientation. We didn’t have a main commons at HTHMA, so we all met as HTHi

We ate pizza and then went up to HTHMA, the first time I had ever been in the building. I got accepted to HTHMA literally five days before school (like a couple of days before orientation, I had already registered with Westview). I remember for some reason I was nervous. I didn’t have an advisor scheduled so Ted just assigned me to Demian since I was in his Physics class.

Ahh, my first year at HTHMA… Fun times.

And now here we are, the last year at HTHMA. I’m gonna make it good!

Thesis:
America is a society that has become victimized by genericized trademarks, as certain brands are more prevalent than others in our commercialistic society.

Evidence:
Asprin is still a trademark in about 80 countries, but is generic in USA
Xerox is used a verb (example: Please Xerox this for me) even though it is a brand.
β€œXerox has used “trademark awareness” advertisements to prevent the brand from becoming a generic noun or verb, including such statements as “You can’t make a Xerox.”

More will be added soon.

Our school has an exhibition in June and we are thinking about what we want to do for our exhibition project. Someone in my class thought that we shoot recreate “Photos that Changed the World” through a photo essay or monument in some sorts.

I would like to examine the effects of September 11th, 2001 on our American Life. I would like to create a 9/11 memorial to the 40+ victims of United Airlines Flight 93. It could be cool to make a monunment in the shape of an airplane.

More ideas will be posted to my blog as we brainstorm.
